And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire. And We have fixed their number only as trial for the disbelievers in order that the people of the Scripture [Jews and Christians] may arrive at a certainty and the believers may increase in Faith and that no doubt may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers and that those in whose hearts is a disease [of hypocrisy] and the disbelievers may say, “What Allah [swt] intends by this example?” Thus Allah [swt] leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this is nothing else than a reminder to mankind.[33]
He [Allah (swt)] will admit to His Mercy whom He wills and as for the polytheists – He has prepared a painful torment.[34]
God helps whom He wills
With the help of Allah [swt.] He helps whom He wills and He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.[35]
Is he then to whom the evil of his deeds is made fair-seeming so that he considers it as good? Verily Allah [swt] sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. So destroy not yourself [O Muhammad (saws)] in sorrow for them. Truly Allah [swt] is the All-Knower of what they do![36]
