God is One

Surah Ar-Ra'd Chapter 13 Verse 16

Say [O Muhammad], “Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth?” Say, “Allah.” Say, “Have you then taken protectors other than Him such as have no power either for benefit or for harm to themselves?” Say, “Is the blind equal to the one who sees? Or darkness equal to light? Or do they assign to Allah partners who created the like of His creation so that the creation [which they made and His creation] seemed alike to them?” Say, “Allah is the Creator of all things; and He is the One, the Irresistible.”[6]

Surah Ibrahim Chapter 14 Verse 48

On the Day when the earth will be changed to another earth and so will be the heavens and they [all creatures] will appear before Allah, the One, the Irresistible.[7]

Surah Az-Zumar Chapter 39 Verse 4

Had Allah willed to take a son He could have chosen whom He willed out of those whom He created. But glory is to Him! He is Allah, the One, the Irresistible.[8]

Surah Ghafir Chapter 40 Verse 16

The Day when they will [all] come out nothing of them will be hidden from Allah. Whose is the kingdom this Day? It is Allah’s, the One, the Prevailing.[9]

The Qur’an confirms the rationally derived attribute of God – oneness.
